At Magic Circle, we prioritize uninterrupted play, a cornerstone of early childhood development. Scientific research consistently demonstrates the significant benefits of extended, focused playtimes. To that end, we offer a generous 50-minute free play period at the start of each day, allowing children ample time to explore, socialize, and learn through hands-on experiences in our eight engaging play stations. We are very present and involved with the children, ready to support their learning by playing with them.

In our fast-paced digital world, it's easy for children to gravitate towards screens. However, the simple act of immersing oneself in a book is invaluable. Circle time is our daily gathering where we laugh, learn, and grow together! We share stories, ideas, and feelings, explore numbers, nature, and languages, sing, play games, and discover new things through fun experiments and show-and-tell. Every day is an adventure and we are sure to do do all of this in both French & English.

At Magic Circle Preschool, we believe in the power of active play and have created an extraordinary outdoor environment to support children's development. Our dedicated gym, enchanting forest, multiple play parks, soccer field, and even a toboggan hill offer endless opportunities for exploration, fun, and physical challenges.

Theme-based learning makes learning fun and engaging for preschoolers. By exploring captivating topics like the rainforest, for example, children discover the world around them in a hands-on, interactive way. We carefully select age-appropriate themes that spark curiosity and inspire creativity. This approach helps children make connections between different subjects, building a strong foundation for future learning. To enhance this experience, our classroom environment is transformed to match the theme, with activities like sensory bins filled with sand and jungle creatures as well as costumes to engage in dramatic play as rainforest animals. This immersive approach encourages hands-on learning and sparks imagination.

Process art and crafts are essential for preschoolers' holistic development. Through these creative outlets, children explore their senses, develop fine motor skills, and boost their imagination. Process art encourages experimentation and self-expression, while crafts foster a sense of accomplishment and pride. Both activities contribute significantly to children's cognitive, emotional, and social growth.  

Mealtimes at Magic Circle are more than just refueling; they're social learning experiences. Children practice sharing, taking turns, and engaging in conversation. They can look at other foods and learn about diverse eating habits. Learning table manners fosters independence and respect for others. Additionally, mealtimes offer opportunities for language development, as children describe tastes, textures, and preferences. It's a time for building confidence and enjoying the pleasure of shared meals. At Magic Circle, food comes from home, allowing each family to control their child's dietary priorities.
