Service Description

Mondays for 6 weeks - This is the Winter session Starting January 13th STEM = SCIENCE TECH ENGINEERING MATH When you think of science, does your mind go straight to labs and lab coats? It's a common misconception, but science is so much more than that! In early childhood education, STEM looks like: Science: Watching how plants grow, playing with water and sand, or observing bugs in the garden. Technology: Figuring out how simple tools work, like magnifying glasses or ramps. Engineering: Building with blocks, creating towers, or making a bridge for their toy cars. Math: Counting rocks, sorting leaves, or recognizing patterns in nature. At this age, it is important that children develop a comfort with science thatwill serve well long term, and Miss Kim prepares a new STEM activity, often tied to a book that she will read as an introduction to the experiment. This offers a positive and strong foundation and appreciation for STEM. By encouraging preschoolers to observe, ask questions, and test their ideas, we’re helping them develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills while fostering a sense of wonder. So let’s put away the lab coats (for now) and embrace the magic of everyday science! This activity is eligible for RL-24 taxe slips.
